For those that have not yet taken a chance to experience these awesome little treasures, you are seriously missing out. Jamberry started with three sisters, a love for mani/pedis, and the need to save some cash while enjoying their sister time! Thus, in late 2010, Jamberry went mainstream spurring the latest phenomenon in nail art!
The application for Jamberry is straight forward and pretty simple. Clean up and shape nails, warm wrap (PSSST...you can use your hair dryer) apply to nail while pressing wrap into place, apply heat again and smooth out, file excess off and viola....DONE! Easy, peasy. Do this 9 more times and you have a manicure that can last upwards of two weeks in only about an hour of your time. I know, sounds pretty crazy right?!? Lucky for you, it's not!
I'm not gonna lie, my nails are pathetic. They are naturally flimsy, weak, brittle, and legit the tips are even opaque at times. Pretty gross my friends. Needless to say, it wasn't out of norm for me to spend a boat load of money going to the salon in order to hide my little disgraceful piggies. A year ago, ironically this week, I was introduced to the company through a friend and given a small sample sheet of wraps. After the first day of usage, my life was forever changed (hence that little obsession thing;)).
On the first day, I paired "Sweet Nothing" with an ESSIE polish I already had on hand. Went about my day as normal (just think Cinderella + an infant - an evil stepmother/ no help from nearby wildlife) and noticed that a few nails done in polish were already wearing on top and one had actually lightly chipped. What about that Jamberry nail you may ask? Just as strong as the Big Blue Ox, Babe. Literally, zero wear was visible! I left the wrapped nail alone and rode it out for 10 days. During the time frame, I polished the remaining nails completely 3 different times trying to make them looks as "polished" as the counterpart. On the last day of wear, I noticed there was a little corner that finally gave so I decided to take them off and start again. ******WARNING******DO NOT, I repeat...DO NOT just rip a wrap off of your nail!!! OUCH!!! It does not physically hurt, but the emotional trauma is similar to the one experienced after the removal of acrylic nails. You know that moment, when you see the damage done to your nails and you instantly regret your decision making ability. The adhesive will actually rip a layer of your nail off if you do not properly remove them! So do yourself the favor, and remove them gently =)
Now, lets talk about the extra fun stuff......SO MANY CHOICES!!! Currently, Jamberry is running hundreds of patterns, different finishes, a nail lacquer line AND a new gel enamel line! With all of these products available, there are millions of possibilities when creating your new nail look! AND for those extra creative types, you can CREATE YOUR OWN NAIL ART through the Nail Art Studio. Simply upload a picture or create a custom design, submit for approval, and purchase when available. You will officially have a true, ONE OF A KIND nail design. SO.MUCH.FUN. Have I also mentioned that these products are gluten free, latex free, vegan friendly. and the lacquer does not contain "The Toxic 5"? Pretty cool huh?
Overall, I LOVE me some Jamberry products (I have not had the opportunity to try the new gel enamel system yet =( ). The application is easy, the designs are gorgeous and fun, and best of all.....I can save money while making myself feel pretty again!
If you would like to know more about Jamberry, I have a few ladies that can help you with just that! They can give you any and all information concerning products, ingredient lists, sales and specials, hosting a party, or even becoming a part of the team (proven, established, AND a member of DSA!). Below, you'll find a contact list of my preferred consultants as I have worked with them all directly and can attest to their professional, fun attitudes! As always, please feel free to leave comments or questions and I hope you enjoyed this review as much as I!
